MP-AP schedules public hearing to discuss requalification of the JP highway – News of Brazil

The Public Ministry of Amapá will hold a public hearing on the requalification of the Josmar Pinto Highway (formerly the Juscelino Kubitscheck Highway). The event will be promoted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Urban Planning, Housing, Sanitation, Urban Mobility, Sports and Cultural Events of Macapá, chaired by the Public Prosecutor André Luiz Dias Araújo, and will be open to society.
The objectives of the public hearing are to understand and debate, in light of legal and technical aspects, the requalification of the Josmar Pinto State Highway, in the stretch between the Marco Zero Monument and the Igarapé da Fortaleza Bridge.
During the public hearing, which is scheduled for October 31st, from 9 am to 12 pm, in the auditorium of the Attorney General’s Office, in Araxá, clarifications will be presented on the topic, to enable interested parties to express their opinion regarding points related to future intervention on the road and its impacts.
The following points will be discussed: guarantee that your right-of-way will be used according to its classification – common use of the people – and, when not, in accordance with specific instruments, such as use permissions and use assignments, respecting the impossibility of restricting your access; respect for the safety of drivers and pedestrians, with adequacy of turns, walkways, lanes and signage; public lighting along the road and guarantee of cycle path or cycle lane and their interconnection.
State and municipal authorities directly involved in the topic, nearby resident associations, legal practitioners, academics specializing in the topic, representatives of the legislative branch, the press and representatives of civil society will be invited to participate in the public hearing.
