MP against energy readjustment in Amapá will be ready next week, says Randolfe – News of Brazil

Senator Randolfe Rodrigues, government leader in the National Congress, reported this Tuesday (28), that the Federal Government’s Provisional Measure, which will create a buffer fund for electricity readjustments in the state, should be ready next week. After signing by President Lula, the MP comes into force immediately.
According to the parliamentarian, the resources used by the fund will come from the privatization of Eletrobras. The MP will come into effect for the 44.41% increase in energy tariffs, scheduled for December.
Furthermore, Senator Randolfe spoke about the popular action, authored by the parliamentarian himself, filed with the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region. The action, which has already had a favorable injunction, aims to overturn the adjustment.
“We are closely monitoring this situation. Whether with popular action or with the MP, we will be able to prevent this readjustment from being carried out on the people of Amapá”, concluded Randolfe.
