Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) said this Tuesday (13) that he “is open to debate” with lawyer Cristiano Zanin, appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to the post of Minister of the Federal Supreme Court . Zanin was Lula’s lawyer during the period in which he was arrested in the scope of Lava Jato by determination of Moro.
Next week, senators will analyze and vote on the name of the lawyer to occupy a seat on the Court. Upon leaving the CPMI session on January 8, Moro was asked if he would talk to Zanin. “We are always open for debate, to discuss, but this question you have to ask him, if he intends to talk to all the senators or not”, said the former Lava Jato judge, reported the newspaper O Globo.
The senator has already publicly questioned Lula’s choice for the STF for violating, according to him, the principle of impersonality. Moro stated that the questions will be asked during the sabbath on the 21st. “These questions will be the subject of the sabbath. I will ask for excuses so that we can ask all the pertinent questions on Saturday, ”he said.
