Federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) criticized the decision of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) that removed Judge Marcelo Bretas, who served on the 7th Federal Criminal Court of Rio, responsible for Lava Jato processes in the state. The parliamentarian used his speech at the Chamber session this Tuesday (28) to state that “there is nothing consistent against Judge Marcelo Bretas”. Deltan was the task force coordinator for the operation in Curitiba.

“Of everything that has come to light, there is nothing consistent against judge Marcelo Bretas. He doesn’t have a place, he doesn’t have a triplex, he doesn’t have luxurious jewelry, he doesn’t have an account abroad, he doesn’t have money hidden in his underwear, he doesn’t have diamonds, he doesn’t have gold bars. What is consistent about Judge Marcelo Bretas is consistent work with blood, sweat and tears to recover more than R$ 4 billion diverted from the population that suffers most in Brazil and to put those who committed these crimes in jail,” said Deltan .

Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR), a former Lava Jato judge in Curitiba, said that the accusations against Bretas lack “solidity”. “Lava Jato in RJ dismantled the corruption empire of the Cabral Government. Judge Bretas, who did a great job, became a target and will be judged by the CNJ. He may be removed. The accusations lack solidity. May Justice prevail and the independence of the judiciary be preserved,” said Moro at the twitter.
