This content is about a fact that is still being investigated by the newsroom. Soon we will have more information.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered the release of former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres from prison. Torres, who served as Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District, has been in prison since January 14 as part of an investigation into the alleged omission of authorities in the acts of vandalism on January 8.
“The present decision will serve as a release permit claused in favor of ANDERSON GUSTAVO TORRES will also serve as a letter of presentation to the Judgment of the Criminal Execution Rod of the Federal District, within 24 hours”, wrote the minister.
Moraes determined a series of precautionary measures to authorize Torres’ release: use of an electronic anklet; ban on leaving the DF and leaving home at night and on weekends; temporary removal from the post of Federal Police Chief; weekly attendance at the DF’s Criminal Execution Court; prohibition to leave the country; cancellation and delivery of the passport; suspension of possession of firearms, including functional ones; banning the use of social networks; and prohibition of communication with other investigated in the investigation.
In the decision, the minister stressed that failure to comply with any of the precautionary measures will result in the revocation and decree of arrest. In April, the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) called for the revocation of the preventive detention of the former Minister of Justice. Deputy Attorney General Carlos Frederico Santos defended the adoption of precautionary measures.
