Federal Supreme Court (STF) Minister Alexandre de Moraes rejected requests to revoke the arrest of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid. In addition, the former assistant to Jair Bolsonaro (PL) must give a new statement to the Federal Police this Friday (30). The decision is from the last day 25, informed the portal g1.
The soldier was the target of Operation Venire and has been arrested since May 3 for allegedly inserting false vaccination data into the Ministry of Health system. Cid’s new statement to the PF will be about the investigations into the January 8 acts.
The CPMI on January 8 will also hear the lieutenant colonel next Tuesday (4). This Thursday (29), Cid’s defense appealed to the STF against the summons approved by the CPMI. Minister Cármen Lúcia had already authorized Cid to remain silent during the hearing.
“In freedom, they could impede the production of evidence, in particular, in view of the possibility of destruction/concealment of evidence, as well as possible communication with other investigations that arose during the production of evidence carried out by the Federal Police”, wrote Moraes, according to g1 .
For the minister, the adoption of precautionary measures instead of imprisonment “would not prove to be sufficient to preserve the integrity of the collection of evidence necessary for the elucidation of the facts”.
