Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes denied the third request from the defense of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to have access to lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid’s statement. Bolsonaro’s statement to the Federal Police is scheduled for this Thursday (22). He is the target of the investigation investigating an alleged attempted coup d’état.

This Wednesday (21), the lawyers argue that the release of the entire case file “is also a way of guaranteeing parity of arms in the investigative procedure.” The defense also requested that the former president be exempt from attending the interrogation in person, as he will remain silent.

In the new decision, the minister highlighted that “the factual and legal situations have not changed, and the obligation for the investigated person to appear before the Federal Police remains”.
