Moraes authorizes Mauro Cid’s testimony to the CPI of the DF Chamber

The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes authorized this Thursday (15) the testimony of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid to give testimony to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the anti-democratic acts of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF ). Cid acted as an assistant to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The lieutenant colonel has been arrested since May 3 by order of Moraes on the charge of defrauding Bolsonaro’s vaccination card and that of his family members. During investigations into the case, the Federal Police (PF) found on his cell phone a draft for enacting a Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO) operation, reported Agência Brasil.

Despite releasing the statement, the minister assured that Mauro Cid will be able to exercise the right to remain silent and not respond to questions that could incriminate him. In the same decision, Moraes also authorized the testimony of Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime, who commanded the Military Police on January 8; the indigenous José Acácio Serere Xavante and those involved in the attempted bomb explosion at Brasília Airport last year.
