The Povos do Meio do Mundo square, currently under construction, will be the site of the sculpture that will present, through joined hands and heads, the four peoples that represent the population of Amapá: the black, the indigenous, the riverside and the caboclo.
It is expected to open later this year.
The four peoples represented will be united and added to the obelisk of memories. Each wall will be arranged like a large mosaic, where history, traditions, customs, beliefs, myths, legends, cuisine and religion will be told, through high reliefs incorporated into each plate.
“We are bringing the entire representation of history to culminate in this work that will integrate the tourist complex in the region surrounding the Marco Zero monument. The landscaping culminates in this large sculpture. It is a beautiful work that will soon be delivered to the people of Macapá”said Cássio Cruz, municipal works secretary, predicting that the inauguration could take place this year.
