The Ministry of Women signed a partnership with Uber and throughout March, the month that marks International Women’s Day, users and drivers of the app will receive communications about Ligue 180, a domestic violence reporting channel.

According to the ministry, the Ligue 180 center began to be more publicized in public benefit campaigns in 2023, which resulted in a 23% increase in the volume of complaints.

In total, the center received 568.6 thousand phone calls during the period, which is equivalent to 1,558 calls per day. The greatest demand came from the Southeast region, with 288 thousand calls, followed by the Northeast, with almost 137 thousand calls. The North and Central-West regions totaled just over 40 thousand calls, and the South, 57 thousand.

The Ligue 180 center is a free, public service provided by the federal government that operates 24 hours a day and provides guidance on women’s rights and the services of the assistance network for women in situations of violence in Brazil, in addition to analyzing and forwarding complaints to competent bodies.

Opening hours also include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and are available by phone at 180 and on WhatsApp at (61) 9610-0180.
