Ministers from the Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) government have opened the doors of the Esplanada to receive local politicians, such as councillors, municipal secretaries and mayors of their electoral bases.

The survey is based on the disclosure of the commitments of each ministry to the CGU (Controladoria-Geral da União) between March 1st and April 25th.

On March 1st alone, the Secretary of Communication, Paulo Pimenta (PT), hosted councilors from seven cities in Rio Grande do Sul for breakfast (Unistalda, Piratini, Taquari, Tabaí, Caçapava, Santana do Livramento and Três de Maio) and, in the afternoon, he met with councilors from Santa Maria to deal with “municipal demands”.

In 23 working days, according to the agenda released in March, the PT member met with politicians from Rio Grande do Sul in at least 7.

André de Paula, from Pernambuco, from Pesca, met with the mayors of Gravatá and Bezerros on March 3rd and, on the 16th, with the manager of agreements and projects for the city of Itapissuma.

The minister also reserved the 14th on his agenda to deal with matters “inherent to fishing and aquaculture in the municipality of Paulista/PE”, as described in the agenda.

In April of this year, Paula met with the mayor of Tacaratu (PE) to deal with “proposals and claims for municipal projects” on the 12th and, on the 24th, he was awarded a courtesy visit by the councilors of Orobó, Machados, Limoeiro, Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, Vicência, Tracunhaém and Taquaritinga do Norte, all from Pernambuco.

Juscelino Filho, Minister of Communications, from Maranhão, received the mayors of Timon and Bernardo de Mearim, on March 7, and Tuntum on April 10 —on the same day, incidentally, he had an audience with the general inspector of the Justice of Maranhão, José de Ribamar Froz Sobrinho.

Juscelino met with mayors of 12 cities in Maranhão (Mangabeira, Timon, São Mateus, Bernardo de Mearim, Brejão, Grajaú, Turilândia, Santa Filomena, Brejo de Areia, São Raimundo do Doca, Tuntum, Barra do Corda), in addition to meeting with representatives of the Federation of Municipalities of the State of Maranhão on March 29th.
