Ministers are irritated by Padilha’s charge – 05/09/2023 – Panel

Ministers from parties allied to the Lula government (PT) were irritated by the demand made by the political coordinator of the administration, Alexandre Padilha, for greater participation in the mobilization of their benches after the overthrow by the Chamber of the decrees that changed the sanitation framework. They said they were ignored in the discussion on the subject before the defeat.

In Lula’s base, there are those who see a good side in the defeat of the attempt to change the sanitation framework, approved in the previous administration. “It shows that the less we keep revisiting the past, the better it is”, says Jonas Donizette (PSB-SP), deputy leader of the Government in the Chamber.

This Tuesday (9), Padilha went to the Senate flanked by the Ministers of the Civil House, Rui Costa, and of Cities, Jader Filho, in an attempt to prevent the overthrow of the decrees from being confirmed in the House presided over by Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG ).

In a meeting with leaders in the Senate, the ministers explained the main points of the sanitation framework and the need to maintain Lula’s decrees. In this way, they intend to arm the parliamentarians to avoid a new defeat.

The strategy, however, was left to be defined later. The leader of the Government in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), asked for this matter to be dealt with at another time.
