Minister’s agenda has a meeting with someone banned from holding office – 03/16/2023 – Panel
The official agenda for Wednesday (15) by the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, recorded a meeting attended by architect Edvaldo Mendes Araújo, known as Zulu Araújo. He is identified as Secretary of Citizenship and Cultural Diversity of the folder.
As the Panel showed, Araújo, received as a punishment from the CGU (Controladoria Geral da União) the prohibition of investiture in public office in 2015, and is unable to assume functions in the ministry. Members of the folder, however, claim that he has been carrying out activities informally and was announced on the folder’s Instagram.
When contacted, the ministry informed that the inclusion of Araújo in the agenda was a mistake and sent two photos of the meeting to show that he was not present. “Zulu Araújo was not invited and did not participate in the meeting as secretary.”
The folder reaffirmed that the architect does not exercise functions in the ministry.
