The multidisciplinary engineering project of chemistry and biology aims to monitor the waters of the archipelago, provide drinking water for more than 13,000 riverside residents, in addition to understanding the effects of the intensification of salinization in the river.
This Tuesday (2), the Minister of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), Waldez Goes, received parliamentarians from different states of Brazil to deal with specific demands of each region. One of the agendas was with the state deputy Jesus Bridges (PDT/AP) and representatives of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan).
Participants presented a proposal to bring drinking water to riverside communities on the Bailique Archipelago, in Amapá, located in the Amazon River delta.

Last week, the MIDR had already announced that it would be responsible for creating a Federal Government Working Group to dialogue with the state of Amapá in resolving these two Bailique issues, in relation to the phenomenon of fallen land and water salinization.
