According to the MEC, the ordinance establishing the new floor will be published later this week in the “Official Gazette”. The teacher salary floor law, enacted in 2008, establishes that the readjustment must be made annually, in the month of January. In 2022, the readjustment for teachers was 33.24%, going from R$ 2,886 to R$ 3,845.63. The minimum salary is defined by the federal government, but basic education salaries are paid by city halls and state governments.
