Since the beginning of the year, the PL has affiliated 43 thousand people. A third of this share, 14 thousand, are women.
The number surprised members of the party, who credit the increase in new followers of Bolsonarism and, above all, to former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro.
At the head of PL Mulher, with a salary of more than R$30,000, she has held events across the country with a campaign to bring in new members and, above all, those interested in running for office in next year’s elections.
Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his former vice Braga Netto have also made trips for this purpose.
The PL has more than 800,000 members, but only this year did it begin to work better on contacting its supporter base.
Since the beginning of the year, the party has implemented a tool with member contacts and profile information.
