The president of PL Mulher and former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, criticized this Saturday (16) the statement by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) about the appointment of the future STF minister, Flávio Dino, calling him “ communist”. She expressed concern and asked for prayers, stating that Lula’s “dream” came true with the presence of a communist in the Supreme Court.

Michelle’s criticism refers to Lula’s speech during the opening of the 4th National Youth Conference, on Thursday (14), where he celebrated Dino’s appointment as “communist minister”. The opposition, including former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), has used the “communist” label to criticize Dino since his appointment.

“We have to pray, yes, we have to cry out to God because we saw the leader himself, the president himself speaking, full of joy, he almost couldn’t speak, that his dream of almost three decades, that project that he didn’t rest until to accomplish, it came to fruition with a communist within the STF”, said Michelle.

She also credited communism with a passage in history “where the biggest bloody revolution happened was with a communist, who persecuted Christians, it was not for lack of warning”.

Nominated by Lula to the STF, Dino was questioned in the Federal Senate and received 47 votes in favor and 31 against the nomination. As the new STF minister, he should inherit the rapporteurship of processes of interest to the right, including actions regarding the Christmas pardon granted by Bolsonaro to police and military personnel, in addition to issues related to the former president’s conduct during the Covid-19 pandemic.
