The attorney general of the Union, Jorge Messias, has told interlocutors that he will not be involved in the dispute for the vacancy to be opened in the STF (Federal Supreme Court) with the retirement of Minister Rosa Weber.
Messias has stated that he considers inappropriate movements by members of the government to occupy the post, whose choice is the exclusive prerogative of the President of the Republic.
To those who seek him out on the subject, he reiterates that his priority at the moment is to help the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and provide legal certainty to the public policies of the administration.
Out of the running, his name for the vacancy is that of the president of the TCU (Union Court of Auditors), Bruno Dantas.
