For the minister of the AGU (Attorney General of the Union), Jorge Messias, the boos he heard this Thursday (8) at the March for Jesus are “residual, although noisy”. In his evaluation, the protest was restricted to a “small group”.
The minister defends more dialogue between the management of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the evangelicals, an electorate that voted mostly for former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in 2022.
“I was very happy to have gone. I think it was a great opportunity. We cannot give up dialogue, mainly because we are in government. Despite this episode, it was an important day”, he told the Panel.
The minister also reports that the government is committed to building new agendas so that this dialogue can take place.
The mention of Lula’s name generated a collective boo at the March for Jesus, which takes place this Thursday (8), in São Paulo. The petista was not there, but was represented by Messias, who is evangelical.
Until then, the minister’s reception had been warm. The boo occurred when he said he was carrying a message from Lula. “I came here to tell you, at the request of the president, that in Brasília there are men and women who live for the Kingdom. We are there, raised up by God, to fulfill a purpose”, he said.
