The Ministry of Education made official this Monday (5th) the director of support for educational management at the basic education secretariat, Alexsander Moreira, after the Federal Police operation that pointed to suspected fraud in a tender for the purchase of robotics equipment in the state of Alagoas.

According to the publication in the Official Journal of the Union (see in full), the resignation took place last Thursday (1st / 6), but still without appointing a replacement for the position.

PF investigations pointed to the existence of a group that would have diverted BRL 8.1 million from the purchase of robotics kits between the years 2019 and 2022 to 43 municipalities in Alagoas using funds from the National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE).

The scheme had been in the sights of the Federal Court of Auditors since 2022, when the government determined the suspension of contracts. The PF operation fulfilled 27 search and seizure warrants in five states, in addition to two temporary arrest warrants in Brasília.

One of the search warrants found a safe with R$4.4 million in cash in the home of one of the targets.
