The head of Semhaf, Jesus Alves, will coordinate the programs “Manaus Minha Casa”, “Manaus Legal” and the “Municipal Housing System
Manaus (AM) – The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, inaugurated, on the afternoon of this Monday, 18/9, the headquarters of the Municipal Department of Housing and Land Affairs (Semhaf), located on Avenida Constantino Nery, Chapada, Central-South zone. On the occasion, the head of the municipal Executive announced that, through the “Manaus Minha Casa”, “Manaus Legal”, “Municipal Housing System (Simhab)” and “Calamidades” programs, around 17 thousand homes will be built to benefit families low-income population in the city.
During the event, which was attended by political authorities from the State, such as senator Eduardo Braga, David Almeida celebrated the partnership with the senator, as the politician allocated parliamentary amendments to several areas of public management.
“This city hall partnership, with the support of Senator Eduardo Braga, has already brought, this year alone, more than R$200 million to the municipal coffers. These resources are very important for our city, as we can invest in various areas such as health, infrastructure and housing. We are working to improve the population’s quality of life,”
said Almeida, highlighting investments in housing.
“There are approximately 17 thousand homes for our city in four years. This is too much. It is the largest investment in a housing program in the municipality’s history. We have a lot to celebrate, all of this on the day we inaugurate the new housing and land regularization house in the city of Manaus”,
The head of Semhaf, Jesus Alves, will coordinate the execution of the “Manaus Minha Casa”, “Manaus Legal” and “Municipal Housing System (Simhab)” programs.
At the “Manaus My Home”, the city hall will benefit 252 families by building housing units, with overlapping houses. The “Manaus Legal” program will reach, by December this year, five thousand families with land regularization in urban centers in the city.
With Simhab, the city hall will facilitate the population’s access to registration in the federal program “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” and the “Programa Municipal de Habitação Manaus Minha Casa”. The system will be open from September 25th. The forecast is that 3 thousand units per year will be offered to the population. Also in partnership with the federal government, through the “Calamities” program, 1,200 homes will be made available per year for families in at-risk areas.
For Senator Eduardo Braga, the inauguration of the Semhaf headquarters and the municipal housing programs are intended to combat the existing deficit in the North of Brazil in relation to housing. For him, these actions are essential to remove many families from risky areas of the city.
“The Housing Secretariat is being inaugurated at a very emblematic moment in Brazil, after a few years that housing policy was abandoned by the Federal Government, that the ‘Minha Casa, Minha Vida’ project was forgotten along with the city of Manaus and the state from the Amazon. Everyone suffered a lot due to the lack of a national program that could help reduce the housing deficit, especially in the North of Brazil, but now Manaus will experience another reality with this action by the city hall”,
Created by Mayor David Almeida in May this year, Semhaf gained its own headquarters that will be fundamental in speeding up the resolution of society’s demands, as highlighted by the holder of the department, Jesus Alves.
“Today, we have the possibility and the great privilege of inaugurating a very well thought out, very well designed establishment, to serve in a dignified manner the people who need it, to serve in a dignified manner the good citizen who needs the service that we are capable of. folder”,
