Members of the Federal Police say that the plea bargain of lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), may be annulled depending on the investigation into audios in which he criticizes both the corporation and the minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court).

In audios revealed by Veja magazine attributed to Cid, the soldier said that he was obliged to corroborate versions according to narratives already constructed by the PF.

Investigators say they will analyze the content of the recordings and, if it is proven that the statements were made in this way and in this context, the award-winning collaboration is at great risk of being annulled.

“You can say what you want. They didn’t accept it and argued. And they argued that my version wasn’t the truth, that it couldn’t have been like that, that I was lying,” said the former aide-de-camp, according to the report from Look.

According to the magazine, the recording is from last week and took place after Cid gave a nine-hour statement to the Federal Police. In the audio, he states that the police just wanted to “confirm their narrative” and at all times implied that he could lose the benefits of the plea bargain depending on what he said.

The magazine published audios in which Cid also tells an interlocutor that the police wanted him to say what he doesn’t know or “what didn’t happen”.

Cid would also have harshly criticized Alexandre de Moraes, who is the rapporteur for the ongoing investigations against the former president at the STF.

“Alexandre de Moraes is the law. He arrests, he releases, whenever he wants, however he wants. With Public Prosecutor’s Office, without Public Prosecutor’s Office, with accusation, without accusation”, he states.

The military also says that there would have been a meeting between the magistrate and Bolsonaro, without giving further details.

“I talked about Alexandre de Moraes’ meeting with the president, they were disconcerted, disconcerted. I said: ‘Do you want me to talk?’.”

And he continues: “Alexandre de Moraes already has his sentence ready, I think that’s the real truth. He already has his sentence ready. He’s just waiting for some time to pass. The moment he sees fit, he’ll denounce everyone , the PGR [procurador-geral da República] complies, accepts and he arrests everyone”.

Cid would also have complained that he ruined his future due to his relationship with Bolsonaro, unlike the other soldiers around him.

“No one lost their career, no one lost their financial life like I did. Everyone was already four stars, they had already reached the top, right? The president had Pix of millions, he became a millionaire, right?”, he said.

This week, the Federal Police indicted Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro, federal deputy Gutemberg Reis (MDB-RJ) and 14 other people in the case that investigates the falsification of Covid-19 vaccine certificates.

As a result of this operation, the former aide-de-camp was arrested in 2023 and spent four months in jail, until signing a collaboration agreement in September.

Moraes, at the time, ordered a series of precautionary measures for the soldier, such as the ban on taking up a position in the Army until investigations were completed and the obligation to wear an electronic ankle bracelet.

The former aide-de-camp has already given statements in which he spoke, for example, about Bolsonaro’s meetings with allies and military personnel, at the end of 2022.
