Marta takes a beating in training with the Brazilian team, but it doesn’t worry her; Nycole doesn’t train

This Saturday, the Brazilian women’s team carried out the third day of training in the field, aiming at the debut of the World Cup. While the cast adapts to Australia’s time zone, the coaching staff intensified activities. Marta suffered a blow and placed an ice pack on the back of her left thigh at the end of the activity.

Despite the scare, the blow was not serious and does not concern the coaching staff. Striker Nycole, who is recovering from a sprained right ankle, participated only in the warm-up and didn’t even put on her boots to train with the rest of the group. She was injured in last Sunday’s friendly against Chile.

In about 1h30 of work, the Swedish Pia Sundhage started the activities with a training, before guiding works of attack against defense. The day ended with a collective 11 against 11 among the entire group. In the afternoon, in Australia, the athletes still did some work at the gym.

I had the opportunity to compete in two World Cups, one with the under-17 and one with the under-20. They are different categories, each with a unique learning value. This adds up and is very important” , continued.

The Brazilian team will return to training this Sunday, Saturday night in Brazil. Pia Sundhage’s men are based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Brazil debuts in the World Cup on July 24 against Panama. The selections are in Group F, which still has France and Jamaica.
