Marquinhos Negritude presents a free show at Teatro Amazonas this Sunday (10)

Manaus (AM) – Singer and composer Marquinhos Negritude will present a free show at Teatro Amazonas, in Manaus, this Sunday (10). The presentation will start at 7 pm.
The show “Manaus meu Amor: A spectacle of love and appreciation of the city” is a literary/musical project by the artist.
According to the singer, the event anticipates the celebrations of Manaus’ birthday. “I will present 12 copyright songs, with different themes”said the musician.
The presentation includes the participation of writers Bosquinho Poeta and Wanderley Freitas, who will recite poems in honor of Manaus.
The show
The show is directed and produced by Manoel Passos. The musical production is by Marquinhos Kakiado.
Songs such as ‘Manaus do Meu Amor’, ‘Teatro Amazonas’, ‘Rio Negro’, ‘Largo de São Sebastião’, ‘Sou Amazonas’ and ‘Amazônia é Vida’ are in the presentation’s repertoire.
Marquinhos Negritude
Marcos Antônio da Silva is better known as Marquinhos Negritude.
The singer was born in Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte, and moved to Manaus in 1980. In the capital of Amazonas, he grew up and started writing poetry.
In Manaus, Marquinhos Negritude took culture courses at the State University of Amazonas (UEA). He also participated in the University Choir under the direction of maestro Nivaldo Santiago, and attended the Music Conservatory.
He has participated in several festivals, such as Fecani and Festival da Canção do Sesc, where he was awarded first and third place in the 1990s.
Marquinhos Negritude is also a composer of samba de plot and, for ten times, he was champion of the carnival of Manaus as a composer. He also received the people’s banner for the best samba of the carnival.
He is a member of the Amazonas Academy of Letters, Sciences and Arts (Alcama), and author of the book ‘Diversos em Versos’, published in 2019.
