In Manicoré, there is only the Civil Police Station to deal with all types of occurrences

Manaus (AM) – Already installed in Manicoré City Council since 2021, the Women’s Attorney, through its attorney, councilwoman Adrienne Cidade, the 1st attorney, councilwoman Maria do Socorro Guimarães and the 2nd attorney, servant Adra Maria dos Reis, sought intermediation by Aleam, through President Roberto Cidade, to set up a Women’s Police Station in the municipality. This week, accompanied by the other councilors of the municipality, they were in the presidency of the Legislative Assembly to reinforce the request.

“In our municipality there is only the Civil Police Station to deal with all types of incidents. That is why we are requesting that the deputy, through his office, intercede with the State Government for the implementation of a Specialized Police Station for the Defense of Women in Manicoré. Many women fail to register the incidents suffered because there is no specialized police station for this. This is a fight of our mandate since 2021”,

highlighted councilor Adrienne Cidade.

According to the president of Aleam, state deputy Roberto Cidade, the document sent by the Manicoré Women’s Attorney will be forwarded to the government of Amazonas so that it can be attended to.

“I have no doubt that this demand will receive due attention from the state government. We will closely monitor the progress of this request in the certainty that Governor Wilson Lima is sensitive to the cause of women and knows how important this police station will be for the work of the prosecution and in defense of the Manicorean woman”,

said Deputy City.

The implementation of the Women’s Police Station in Manicoré has the support of the bacurau population. A petition, authored by the Women’s Attorney’s Office, gathered 5,220 signatures from residents who want the institution to be installed. In addition, the State Defender’s Office also manifested, in a document, corroborating the request of the Attorney General’s Office.
