Manchester United announced this Friday (29) the reinstatement to training and availability for matches of Brazilian striker Antony, 23, who is awaiting the conclusion of a police investigation into allegations of violence brought forward by an ex-girlfriend.
The 23-year-old player was accused by Gabriela Cavallin of threats and physical and psychological aggression, which the player denies.
“Since the first allegations were made in June, Antony has cooperated with police investigations, both in Brazil and the United Kingdom, and continues to do so,” the English club said in a statement.
“As Antony’s employer, Manchester United have decided that he will return to training at Carrington and be available for matches whilst police investigations continue,” the statement added.
The player remained in Brazil after being released by United on September 10. He returned to England at the beginning of the week and was questioned by Manchester police on Thursday (28), but was not charged, according to the British press.
