Official opening of the national meeting will be held at 7pm (Manaus time) on April 10th, at Teatro Amazonas

Manaus (AM) – For the first time in Manaus, on the 10th, 11th and 12th of April, the XVI meeting of the College of Electoral Justice Ombudsmen (Coje) and the III meeting of the College of Judicial Ombudsmen for Women (Cojum), entities that represent the ombudsmen and electoral ombudsmen at national level. The host body of the event is the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-AM).

The official opening of the national meeting will be held at 7pm (Manaus time) on April 10th, at Teatro Amazonas, with the participation of the president of TRE-AM, judge Jorge Lins, the general ombudsman of TRE-AM, Pedro de Araújo Ribeiro, and the TRE-AM Women’s ombudsman and vice-president of Coje, judge Lídia de Abreu Carvalho, under the coordination of the president of Coje, the TRE-GO ombudsman judge, Dr. Márcio Antônio de Souza Moraes Júnior, and the president of Cojum, judge Tânia Regina Reckziegel, from TRT-RS.

On the first day, ombudsman Marcello Terto e Silva will give the lecture “CNJ Ombudsman: The perspective of citizenship as a factor in improving judicial policies”.

For the president of TRE-AM, judge Jorge Lins, it is with great honor that Manaus hosts two important meetings of ombudsmen from the judiciary, demonstrating that the socialization and exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices of ombudsmen go beyond geographical barriers, reaching to the entire country.

“Ombudsman offices are fundamental channels of connection between public authorities and citizens. It is another pillar of consolidating democracy, of listening to suggestions, complaints and proposals with transparency and social responsibility, transforming them into continuous improvement actions. Therefore, meetings like these, between Coje and Cojum, only strengthen the actions that the courts have already been carrying out across the country, in the continuous search for excellence in public actions for the common good”,

At 8:30 am on the 10th, the first lecture at the Coje meeting will take place, at the State Court of Auditors (TCE-AM), on “The use of AI in the context of Ombudsman Offices”, with Otávio Lube dos Santos, from TRE-ES, as speaker. . At 10am, the Learning Trails will be presented, with the speakers: Júlia Pittelkow Albuquerque Montes/SECAP, Jesana Cardoso dos Santos/ZE and Adenir José de Sousa/COED, TRE-GO employees.

On the second day of the event (11), which will also be held at the TCE headquarters, there will be the lecture “Simple language and visual law: expanding society’s access to Justice”, at 8:30 am, with speaker Adelyse Morais Lopes, TJDFT employee . Still in the morning, at 10 am, it is time for the presentation on “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Elections”, with speakers: Dr. Diogo Rais, substitute judge member of TRE-SP, and Elder Goltzman, judicial analyst at TRE-SP.

In the afternoon of the second day, there will also be lectures “Presentation of Good Ombudsman Practices”, for public servants and ombudsman judges; the “Role of Ombudsmen for the 2024 Elections”, with speaker Leonardo Hernandez, assistant judge in the Office of Minister Kássio Nunes Marques, at the TSE; the “Experience of the Federal Supreme Court Ombudsman” – Judge Flávia Martins de Carvalho, and the Honor Panel “Challenges and Perspectives for the 2024 Elections”, with judge Jorge Lins, president of TRE-AM, and judge Luiz Cláudio Veiga Braga , elected president of TRE-GO.

And the last day (12), at 9am, is the Coje meeting and approval of the Manaus Charter, at the headquarters of the Regional Electoral Court of Amazonas.

Cojum Programming

On Thursday morning (11), starting at 9 am, the lecture “Harassment against women in its various aspects” will be held, with judge Mariana Aquino and professor Dr. Rosane Porto; and at 10 am, the presentation “Welcoming women in situations of gender-based violence” will take place, taught by professor Doctor Lis Sobol. Both agendas take place at the TCE-AM headquarters. On the last day (12), at 9am, there will be a Cojum meeting and the approval of the Manaus Charter, at the TRE-AM headquarters.
