A newcomer to the competition, Robô da Amazônia faces the opponent from Tocantins, in a single, eliminatory duel, in the first phase
Manaus (AM) – Manauara EC will play another important match in its recent history. On Wednesday night (28), Robô da Amazônia debuts in the Copa Verde against Tocantinópolis-TO, away from home, in a duel valid for the first phase of the current season’s competition. The ball rolls at 5pm (Manaus time), at the João Ribeiro stadium, in the city of the same name as the club from Tocantins.
One of the three representatives from Amazonas and a historic debutant in the competition, Manauara is the only team from the State that is committed to this first phase. The duel against Tocantinópolis-TO is unique and eliminatory, and in the event of a draw, the classification will be decided on penalties. If it advances, Robô da Amazônia will face Manaus FC, which, like Amazonas FC, enters the second phase of the Copa Verde.
To get to the venue for this Wednesday’s match, Manauara left Manaus on Monday night (26) and traveled for more than a day. The Amazon team made air stops in Brasília (DF) and Marabá (PA). In addition, the Robot delegation will also travel a bus section, until reaching the final destination: Tocantinópolis (TO).
Robot’s coach, Alan George, commented on the team’s preparation. Alan is only going to his second match on his return to Manauara: the commander debuted in his second spell with the Amazonian team in the elimination against Retrô-PE, last Wednesday (21), in the first phase of the Copa do Brasil.
“Another competition, another opponent and we are trying to study the Tocantinópolis-TO team a lot for this Copa Verde, based on the information we are looking for. Every day we have to work to fit the best team”,
said the commander of the Amazon Robot.
Arbitration
The match between Manauara and Tocantinópolis will be led by a trio of referees from Mato Grosso. Central Rodrigo da Fonseca Silva will referee the match, who will be assisted by Fernanda Kruger (FIFA) and Gislan Antonio Garcia da Silva. Both from Tocantins, Eduardo Fernandes Teixeira and Edilson Frasao Pereira will be fourth referee and field analyst, respectively.
