French President Emmanuel Macron will be received, this Thursday (28), at a lunch at the Itamaraty headquarters including miniacarajé, coxinha, picanha crispy, moqueca, chicken and pirão.

The menu, which pays homage to Brazilian biomes, is designed by chef Morena Leite, from the Capim Santo restaurant and institute, alongside Dante and Kafe Bassi, who run the Manga restaurant, in Salvador.

Lunch starts with snacks such as miniacarajé with seafood vatapá, sweet potato coxinha with guinea fowl and picanha crispy. The starter is Peking shrimp with peach palm hearts.

Five main dishes will be served in a buffet that has, among the options, egg moqueca with coconut rice and beiju farofa. In addition to the recipe, there is also roasted sea bass with plantain and crab pirão; tapioca ravioli with Serra da Canastra cheese; chicken with mini rice and pequi; and grilled ancho with wild arugula.

“It’s something simple and original, which represents our gastronomy. We are excited to be able to showcase our rich, simple and tropical cuisine. We are inspired by Brazilian biomes”, says Morena Leite in a message.

To conclude, the dessert is a mousse made with cocoa fruit.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who had previously met with Macron at Palácio do Planalto, will also be present at the lunch.

The visit to the federal capital ends a three-day trip that President Macron took to Brazil. He went to Belém (PA), Itaguaí (RJ) and São Paulo (SP). Lula accompanied him in the first two cities.
