President Lula (PT) intends to start a cycle of trips to several Brazilian states to inspect works and projects that the government is carrying out in different regions of the country.

The petista has already been to 11 units of the federation since assuming his third term as president of the Republic. But the trips were, in general, short, and made for specific events and announcements. Two weeks ago, for example, he sanctioned the new nursing floor in the city of Crato, Ceará.

The idea is for Lula to spend more time in the states to give visibility to the government’s accomplishments. The visits will be planned together with the communication area, to enhance the repercussion in the media and social networks.

The president has shown anxiety to make the government machine take off and deliver results.

In addition to problems of bureaucracy, he now faces greater difficulties than those he had in previous terms in order to assert his will.

Lula lives today with a more adverse correlation of forces in Parliament – ​​in his first term, he had allies in charge of the Chamber, which is not the case of the current president of the House, Arthur Lira (PP-AL). Although he dialogues and makes agreements, he supported Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and does not automatically align himself with the government.

The president also does not currently have any influence over the Central Bank, which frustrates his expectations of seeing interest rates drop and the economy take off.
