President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) visited this Wednesday afternoon (25) the former president of Uruguay José “Pepe” Mujica. The PT supporter was received at Mujica’s farm, close to Montevideo. First lady Rosângela Silva, known as Janja, also participated in the meeting, as well as Senator Lucía Topolansky, Mujica’s wife.

The conversation lasted about two hours, according to the Metrópoles portal. In the social networks, Lula released images of the meeting with Mujica and said that they talked “about politics, life and Latin America”. The former Uruguayan representative also shared a record of the meeting, in which he and Lula appear sitting on plastic chairs in the farm’s garden. “Two friends, two fighters from our Latin America”, says the caption on social networks.

This was the last appointment on the president’s agenda in Uruguay. Earlier, he met with Uruguayan President Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou. Lula also received a tribute from the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse. Ministers Fernando Haddad (Finance), Mauro Vieira (Foreign Relations), Luciana Santos (Science and Technology) and Márcio Macêdo (General Secretariat of the Presidency) also participated in the visit to Mujica.
