President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) should travel to Argentina once again in July to participate in the Summit of Heads of State of Mercosur. The information was confirmed to People’s Gazette this Friday (9) at the Planalto Palace.

The trip is expected to take place between the 3rd and 4th and will be the president’s second visit to the neighboring country since the beginning of the new government. In the first, in January, Lula signed cooperation agreements in the areas of economy, health, defense and science.

Shortly afterwards, Argentine President Alberto Fernández came to Brazil to meet Lula to ask for help with the country’s ailing economy.

At the July meeting of Mercosur heads of state, topics such as the creation of a single currency for commercial transactions between Latin American countries, the possible reintegration of Venezuela into the economic bloc, commercial cooperation, among others, should be discussed.
