President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Thursday (15) that the Brazilian economy will exceed the estimates of the International Monetary Fund, for a rise of 0.9%, and will grow more than 2.5% this year. .
The president said he said this to the head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, during the G20 meeting in Japan. “At the end of the year, I want to prove to her that she was wrong with regard to the Brazilian GDP. We are going to grow more than 0.9%. We are going to grow above 2%, 2.5% and if what I’m thinking happens, we can until it grows a little more,” he said.
Lula gave an interview to radio stations in Goiás this Thursday morning (15). The representative travels the next day to that state, where he inaugurates a ring road in Jataí (GO) and a section of the North-South railroad, in Rio Verde (GO).
The representative was also asked about the relationship with agribusiness, a sector linked to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Then he said that the problem of the agribusiness representatives with his government is “ideological” and not economic.
Lula also affirmed again that he will launch a New PAC on July 2nd, in reference to a program for infrastructure works.
