Lula says that former president is linked to acts of 8/1, but without presenting evidence

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) once again accused former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) of connection with the January 8 acts that led to the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers, but without presenting evidence. The new attack against the former representative took place during an internet broadcast this Monday morning (19).

“It is already proven that they tried to carry out a coup, and it was coordinated by the former president who is now trying to deny it. But, when he lost the elections, he locked himself inside the house to prepare the coup”, said Lula without explaining what evidence would confirm the accusation.

The speech against the former president comes two days after the government annulled the appointment of Colonel Jean Lawand Junior to the Brazilian Diplomatic Representation in the United States, who would have exchanged messages with Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid suggesting an alleged attempt at a coup d’état. using the Armed Forces.

Lula also said that the discovery of the messages will be investigated and that “everyone will have a chance to defend themselves. Whoever is at fault in the notary will pay, will be judged by the common Justice and will go to jail if he has committed a crime”.

The president also stated that he had always spoken with former presidents such as Itamar Franco, José Sarney (who he even invited to participate in the inauguration of a section of the North-South Railway this weekend), Fernando Collor de Mello and with Fernando Henrique Cardoso, whom he congratulated on his 92nd birthday this Sunday (18).

“Now there is a citizen who doesn’t talk to anyone, who doesn’t want to talk, he just wants to transmit lies, fake news, talk nonsense, aggression against others. This has to end,” he added.

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) did not comment on Lula’s statements.
