And justice will be firm against anyone who tries to take it away from the people, ”he added.

A month after the acts of vandalism, investigations are still ongoing. On Tuesday (7), the Federal Police (PF) carried out the fifth phase of Operation Lesa Pátria, which seeks to identify people who participated, financed or encouraged the invasion and depredation of the headquarters buildings of the Three Powers.

In addition, the Federal Court has already ordered the blocking of BRL 18.5 million in assets of investigated persons and companies, to ensure that those responsible are able to compensate part of the damage resulting from the destruction of public facilities and the exposed historical and artistic heritage. in the buildings. The Attorney General’s Office asked for the blockade to be raised to R$ 20.7 billion, after recalculating the losses in the Chamber of Deputies.

The federal government will also propose measures to toughen legislation on crimes against the democratic rule of law. The initiative is a reaction to terrorist acts and has been dubbed the Democracy Package.
