President Lula (PT) criticized this Tuesday (4) during a live broadcast on social networks the abusive use of cell phones. He stated that he vetoed the entry of a telephone set in meetings in his cabinet and said that it is necessary to “humanize” relations.
“The guy schedules an audience with the president and in a little while the president is sitting and the guy on his cell phone talking to the guy he didn’t schedule an audience with. So, in my office, you don’t enter with a cell phone, the cell phone is at the entrance and no meeting I allow cell phones,” he said.
He also stated that he advises his advisors to call the people they want to talk to, instead of sending messages via the instant messaging application.
“With me there is no such thing, with me it’s a call. Say ‘good morning, good afternoon, good evening, the president wants to hold a meeting, you can attend'”, he said.
Lula said that he educated himself in this regard. “I, thank God, educated myself. I educated myself, I’m not a cell phone hostage, I’m not a hostage, I don’t have lunch with a cell phone, I don’t have dinner with a cell phone, I don’t go to the bathroom with a cell phone, I don’t take a shower with a cell phone. In other words, I have my time and cell phone has his”, he said.
He criticized people who have more than one telephone set.
“There are people who are sick, there are people who only have two ears and walk around with three cell phones in their hands, four. In the past, people still scratched their groin, nowadays it doesn’t even itch anymore. People full of cell phones in their hands. I I honestly think it’s a disease or arrogance, if you think it’s very important”.
