Flávio Bolsonaro comes out in defense of André Valadão – 07/04/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) came out in defense of the evangelical pastor André Valadão and stated that “the persecution has reached inside the churches”.

The religious leader became the target of an investigation by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) to determine whether he committed the crime of homotransphobia after speaking against LGBTQIA+ people during a service. Valadão is also investigated by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais.

In a sermon in Orlando, United States, the pastor said that it is necessary to “reset” the members of this community and that, if God could, “he would kill everything and start all over again”.

“So now is the time to take the ropes back and say ‘nananinanão’, ‘powder’ stop, reseta. Then God says: I can’t anymore, I’ve already put that rainbow there. If I could, I’d kill everything and start everything again. But I already promised myself that I can’t, so now it’s up to you,” he said.

The son 01 of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) shared a video in which Valadão defends himself against the accusations. “To those who were doubting… the persecution has arrived inside the churches, it is the beginning of the end of the rest that we still had of religious freedom”, wrote the parliamentarian in the publication.

In last year’s election, the pastor was one of the most enthusiastic evangelical supporters of Jair Bolsonaro.

Valadão stated that “the mainstream media” rises to try to generate news that embarrasses and inhibits Christians. According to him, society is experiencing a moment of debauchery, contrary to the will of God, as in the days of Noah.

“When I say ‘we reset’, I don’t mean ‘we kill’. For God’s sake, people. I don’t mean we annihilate people. What I mean is: it’s up to us to take man, human being, to the principle of what is the will of God”, said the pastor.
