Lula receives German Prime Minister to discuss trade and environmental actions

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will receive, this Monday afternoon (30), a delegation from Germany composed of Chancellor Olaf Scholz, ministers of state and German businessmen, according to the official agenda of the Presidency of the Republic.
It will be a series of meetings starting mid-afternoon, with a ceremony for Scholz’s arrival at the Planalto Palace, a bilateral meeting with President Lula, another with German business delegations and, in the evening, a state dinner at the Itamaraty Palace. , seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to Brazil, Scholz also visited Argentina and Chile, in search of strategic partnerships in renewable energy, ecology and sustainability. “Latin America has an unbelievable potential”, he told Deutche Welle, also recalling the progress of trade negotiations between Mercosur and the European Union.
Scholz’s visit is the third of a German delegation, which also had, this weekend, the announcement of a donation of R$ 1.1 billion from the German government to compose part of the Amazon Fund and other socio-environmental actions.
By the end of this first half, Lula should receive at least five other heads of government and state, such as US President Joe Biden in February and Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo in April. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also seeking a date for Lula to visit China.
