President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) received federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) at Palácio do Planalto this Wednesday (25) to discuss federal government programs in São Paulo and the PT member’s participation in the São Paulo electoral campaign of 2024.
Boulos will run for Mayor of São Paulo next year and will receive the support of the PT in the race that, so far, has Ricardo Nunes (MDB), Tabata Amaral (PSB) and Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil). The current mayor seeks the support of governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) and former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
According to the Panel, Lula and the Psolista agreed to joint participation in events, deliveries and inaugurations in the capital, with the aim of boosting the deputy’s candidacy.
Recovering from surgery on his hip and eyelids, Lula is expected to make his first major trip only at the end of November, to the 28th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP28), in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. When you return, you should start planning trips to the capital of São Paulo.
Lula said in May that he will complete the campus of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) in the east zone during his term. Boulos has articulated the progress of the works and should participate in events related to them alongside the president, for example.
The deputy and the president are also expected to appear together at events related to the PAC (Growth Acceleration Program), the federal government’s investment program.
