Lula launches 100 days with ‘Brazil is back’ used by Temer – 08/04/2023 – Politics

President Lula’s (PT) team launched a campaign to celebrate the 100 days of government with the slogan “Brazil is back”. The phrase was already used in 2018 by the Michel Temer (MDB) government.

This Saturday (8th) Lula released a video on his social networks in which he highlighted what would be the return to the value of culture, the environment and international respect, among other themes defended by the new government, especially in contrast to Jair’s mandate. Bolsonaro (PL).

In the publication, a text says: “We are back to take care of the Brazilian people, and that is what we are doing. We will continue working together for a Brazil with more rights and opportunities. #OBrasilVoltou“.

The video ends with the official slogan of the Lula government, which is “Brazil, union and reconstruction”.

The phrase “Brazil has returned” was used by Temer when he completed two years in the Presidency. Temer was vice president of Dilma Rousseff (PT) and took office after her impeachment, a process that PT members call a coup.

Initially, Temer’s slogan was “Brazil has returned, 20 years in 2”, but the ambiguity it caused when the phrase was read meant that this complement was withdrawn.

Temer had also used the phrase in a post on social media in 2017, after auctions of pre-salt oil fields.

The return of Brazil, at the time of Temer, was related to the departure of the PT from power. Now, the same sentence refers to exactly the opposite: the return of the party to the government.

Lula and his team have invested in trying to publicize the government’s results in these first hundred days. The brand gained more importance after the coup attacks on January 8, with the invasion of the headquarters of the three Powers by Bolsonarist groups.
