President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) took the fifth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 this Monday (27) at the launch of the national immunization campaign. The vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), who is a doctor, applied the vaccine to Lula.
The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, and the First Lady, Rosângela Silva, Janja, also participated in the event held at a health center in Guará, in Brasília. In addition to Lula, three other people were vaccinated. The president took Pfizer’s bivalent vaccine.
The bivalent immunizer is recommended as a booster dose for anyone who has received at least two doses against the disease from any laboratory, four months ago or more. The reinforcement protects against the original virus and its variants, including Ômicron, informed Agência Brasil.
In this first stage of the campaign, immunization against Covid-19 will be reinforced for priority groups across the country, such as the elderly and immunocompromised. Lula made an appeal for the population to get vaccinated.
“From now on, when you see a notice on television, on the radio, on the internet, that they are giving a vaccine in your city, for God’s sake, don’t be irresponsible, if you have the vaccine, go there and get the vaccine. the only guarantee of not dying for lack of responsibility”, said the president.
In addition to the Covid vaccine, the “Vaccine is life. Vaccine is for everyone” campaign includes other immunizers from the National Vaccination Calendar. Also participating in the event were the Minister of the General Secretariat, Márcio Macedo, Senator Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS), and the Governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão (PP).
“You may not like the president, but you should like and take care of your family. Therefore, vaccinate them. It is a gesture of responsibility”, said Lula on social networks.
