President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) invited this Tuesday (20) the Ministers of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, to join the entourage for the trip to France. The two embarked on the night of this Wednesday (21) towards Paris.
They are going to participate, alongside the president, in a meeting on the economic agenda, transition and energy security, including a discussion related to nuclear power plants.
Lula was invited by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, to participate in the Summit of the New Financial Pact, which takes place this Thursday (22nd) and Friday (23rd) in Paris.
Called last November by the French president, the summit seeks to mobilize proposals and create a political momentum to redesign the architecture of global finance, with the aim of dealing with the climate crisis and challenges of sustainable development —such as health, education, energy and sanitation basics—in the most vulnerable countries.
