The Lula Institute, created by the current President of the Republic and currently supported by his allies, held a seminar on the 15th in partnership with one of the largest Chinese communication groups, the China Media Group.
The event, held at a luxury hotel in Brasilia, had as its theme the so-called Two Sessions, one of the highlights of the Asian country’s political-legislative calendar.
It was on this occasion that the current Chinese president, Xi Jinping, was confirmed for a third term.
Relations between the two countries were also discussed. Among the speakers were the Chinese ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, the director of CMG in Latin America, Zhu Boying, and the president of the Lula Institute, Marcio Pochmann.
The seminar also had Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação among its organizers.
The rapprochement comes at a time when the CMG, which controls state-owned TVs and radio stations in China and is strongly linked to the regime, entered into a partnership with EBC (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação) to exchange journalistic content, as revealed by the Metrópoles website. The two agreements are unrelated, however.
Sought, the Lula Institute did not manifest itself.
