President Lula (PT) participated this Friday (30) in official commitments in Rio Grande do Sul and avoided talking about the decision of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) that condemned former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to ineligibility until 2030.

Between two agendas, Lula also had lunch with governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB) and former governors of Rio Grande do Sul at Palácio Piratini, in Porto Alegre. Alongside her boyfriend, doctor Thalis Bolzan, Leite received Lula and the first lady Janja and published a photo of the two couples on the social network.

Although he made no reference to the TSE decision in the two agendas, Lula heard from the audience shouts of “ineligible” against Bolsonaro, both in Viamão and in Porto Alegre.

The decision that condemned Bolsonaro to ineligibility had a majority formed in the early afternoon, shortly after the start of Lula’s first agenda in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The public’s cries against the former president occurred both at this event and at another one, in the late afternoon.

In the morning, in Viamão, a municipality neighboring Porto Alegre, Lula delivered 446 houses from Minha Casa Minha Vida. There are 1,784 beneficiaries whose family income is up to R$ 2,640.

The work was built through Minha Casa Minha Vida entities, a modality of the program that allows the contracting of cooperatives and entities to produce the houses.

The total investment was R$ 39.8 million, of which R$ 37.6 million was federal and R$ 2.2 million was provided by the Government of RS.

In the afternoon, Lula visited the recently expanded Hospital de Clínicas in Porto Alegre. The work of the university hospital that serves the SUS received R$ 555 million and had its physical structure in 70% of the institution, funds pledged still in the first Dilma Rousseff government. The work ended in 2019.
