Lula government studies taking ‘Enem’ for public tenders – 08/24/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services is studying the possibility of creating a national test that unifies all public tenders for positions in the federal government. This Friday (25), the idea will begin to be presented by the head of the folder, Esther Dweck, to possible interested bodies.

The test would have an application model inspired by the Enem (National High School Examination), being taken to remote locations in the country and having a more accessible cost. The test would present general knowledge questions, but also specific ones, related to the areas chosen by the candidates.

A provisional study predicts that 180 cities will receive the exam, most of them concentrated in the Northeast, North and Southeast regions, chosen from a survey carried out by Ipea (Institute for Applied Economic Research).

“It is a process of democratization of access to becoming a public servant, but also in the sense that there is a resumption of the hiring process for the sector, reinforcing the strengthening of the Brazilian State”, says the minister, who has already announced the opening of 8,146 new vacancies in the federal government for 2023.

IDEA

In the column, Dweck also states that the idea of ​​the unified test was born from the realization that several federal agencies have been without competitions for a long time, and that many of the tests are held in large cities. The experience gained from taking the Enem emerged, then, as an inspiration to remodel the selection processes.

In addition to Ipea, bodies such as Inep (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research) and AGU (Attorney General of the Union) have already been consulted about the feasibility of the project. This Friday, the idea will be taken to other ministries of the Lula government, autarchies, research institutes and regulatory agencies, in order to make criticisms and suggestions.
