Yesterday Lula had dismissed another 43 soldiers. This week the president should meet with Defense Minister José Múcio and the commanders of the Army, Air Force and Navy to discuss the modernization of the Armed Forces and solve the current government’s suspicions.

Lula has publicly declared his distrust of the military who acted in the management of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and this suspicion was accentuated after the acts of vandalism on January 8. Recently, Lula stated that “many people” from the Armed Forces were colluding with the invasion of the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília.

On the occasion, the president also stated that he would carry out a “screening” to identify supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro who still worked inside the Palace. “We are at the moment of doing a thorough triage, because the truth is that the Palace was full of Bolsonaristas, of the military, and we want to see if we can correct it so that we can place a career employee, preferably civil servants, or who were here or who were removed, so that this here becomes a civil office”, he declared.
