Lula excludes Armed Forces commanders from ministerial meetings

Unlike Jair Bolsonaro, Lula did not invite heads of the three Armed Forces to the meetings
President Lula opted not to invite the commanders of the three Armed Forces to the ministerial meetings that he led from the beginning of his government until now.
Since taking office, the PT has held at least three expanded meetings with ministers and presidents of public banks at the Planalto Palace: on January 6, April 10 and June 15.
The commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force chosen by the PT, however, were not called to any of the three meetings, as the column found out.
Lula’s option contrasts with the stance of former President Jair Bolsonaro, who used to call the heads of the three Armed Forces to ministerial meetings in the Planalto.
Ministry of Defense
Lula’s assistants and high-ranking military personnel heard by the column minimized the fact that the current President of the Republic does not invite commanders to ministerial meetings.
The speech is that the heads of the Forces were represented by the Minister of Defense, José Múcio, and that the ‘normal‘, historically, it was commanders not participating in these meetings.
Lula’s advisers also point out that the president has had frequent appointments with the High Command of the Army, Navy and Air Force, in order to strengthen relations.
