Lula enters attribution of the STF and says that 8/1 vandals will all be judged – 04/19/2023 – Power

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Wednesday (19) that all the people who invaded and destroyed the headquarters of the Three Powers on January 8 will be judged.

The statement by the Chief Executive was given hours after the revelation of internal images of the Planalto Palace that show the performance of members of the GSI (Institutional Security Office), including the head of the portfolio, Minister Gonçalves Dias, on the date of the invasion.

“We will not fail to judge each of the coup plotters because in this country there is no room for Nazis, for fascists and for those who do not like democracy”, he said in a speech at the inauguration event of the council for social participation in the elaboration of the Pluriannual Plan.

The agent did not explain, however, how this judgment will be, since the attribution to judge the case is of the Judiciary, and not of the Executive, Power that is under his responsibility.

Images released by CNN Brasil show that the vandals received water from the military and greeted GSI agents during the attacks.

The recordings also show the ministry minister walking around the third floor of the palace, in the anteroom of the President of the Republic’s office, while the acts took place on the floor below.

The GSI said this Wednesday (19) that it conducts internal investigations into the conduct of its agents on that date.

“The Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic clarifies that the images show the performance of security agents which was, at first, in the sense of evacuating the fourth and third floors of the Planalto Palace, concentrating protesters on the second floor, where, after waiting for the reinforcement of the PM/DF shock squad, it was possible to arrest them”, says the note.

The folder also stated, regarding the collaboration of agents with the invaders, that “the conduct of public agents of the GSI involved are being investigated in an investigative investigation established within the scope of this ministry”. “If irregular conduct is proven, the respective perpetrators will be held accountable”, he adds.

After the attacks, President Lula exonerated the military from the Institutional Security Office and showed distrust with the agents who acted that day.

“I want to see all the tapes recorded inside the Supreme Court, inside the palace. There were a lot of conniving agents. There were a lot of people from the Military Police conniving. A lot of people from the Armed Forces inside here conniving. open for these people to enter because there is no broken door. That is, someone facilitated their entry here”, he said, at breakfast with journalists, on January 12.
