President Lula (PT) defended this Tuesday (22) to Brazilian industry businessmen that Brazil be the protagonist and world leader of the green economy agenda.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour at The Leonard hotel, in Johannesburg (South Africa), was attended by Minister Fernando Haddad (Finance).
Lula and Haddad are in the South African city to participate in the Brics summit, a bloc formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
A member of the Brazilian delegation, the president of the CNI, Ricardo Alban, said that the Brazilian industry is ready for the challenge. He also defended that Brazil has a government industrial policy that invests in decarbonization and sustainable energy.
In addition to Alban, the Brazilian delegation includes members of the board of Brics entrepreneurs such as Daniel Marteleto Godinho (WEG), José Serrador Neto (Embraer), Bruno Machado Ferla (BRF) and João Fruet (Banco do Brasil).
