President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) defended this Sunday (16) the extradition of Thiago Brennand to Brazil. The Brazilian businessman who is accused of assaulting women, in addition to possessing illegal weapons. Brennand fled to the United Arab Emirates in September of the year.

Lula stated that the issue was not officially discussed with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, reported Agência Brasil. This Saturday (15), authorities in the country agreed to extradite Thiago Brennand, according to TV Globo.

“I heard that the United Arab Emirates are going to carry out the extradition. When it will happen is a question of Justice. The only thing I know is that if there are a million citizens like this in the world, they all deserve to be punished. It is not acceptable for such a brute to be an aggressor of women. I think he has to pay”, said Lula during a press conference at the end of his trip to the United Arab Emirates.
